Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has promoted Jeff Junge to senior vice president of online games and digital games platforms, a new role created to lead expansion efforts. Meanwhile, the company beefs up its classic characters presence for Scooby-Doo and Road Runner.

Junge will oversee the Warner Bros. digital gaming business, as well as recently acquired online gaming studio Turbine and TT Games. He previously served as senior vice president of business management for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

"Jeff has orchestrated numerous high-profile acquisitions and has a deep understanding of digital platforms and games, which are key priorities for the studio," says Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. "This newly created position reflects the natural evolution of Jeff's role in the organization as we further expand our digital presence in the games space."

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is readying a new video game and 3-D shorts based on iconic toons Scooby-Doo and

Road Runner. In time for a fall release, Torus Games is developing Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Swamp for the Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2. The action-adventure video game will be available in conjunction with the animated original direct-to-DVD movie "Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare." Warner Bros. is also working on three-minute 3-D shorts, featuring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. The shorts will mark both characters' return to the big screen as part of the upcoming family features,

Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore

(July 30),

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

 (Sept. 24) and

Yogi Bear

(Dec. 17).

In other Warner Bros. news, the international pictures division announced it surpassed the $1 billion overseas box office mark for the 10th consecutive year. The studio's top performers this year included

The Blind Side,

Clash of the Titans, Invictus, Sherlock Holmes

and

Valentine's Day.
