The new content features The Foundry, which gives players the opportunity to design there own missions, as well as share creations with friends; Borg technology in ships, where players can earn loot from special task force missions to augment a ship's appearance and usefulness; episode replay; and a new realistic look to Sector Space.
In support of the debut, Atari and Cryptic have launched a "Design the Next Enterprise" contest, where fans are asked to submit their version of a future Enterprise online. The winning design will be converted into a playable ship within Star Trek Online. A grand prize package will include an Alienware M11x laptop with custom Star Trek Online paintjob, collector's edition copy of Star Trek Online, a lifetime subscription to Star Trek Online and a 3-D model of the winning ship.
