Zodiak Kids/Marathon Media signed a deal with Cartoon Network Latin America to broadcast its boys’ property "Redakai: Conquer the Kairu" in the territory. Cartoon Network U.S., Cartoon Network EMEA (excluding Spain and French-speaking Europe), YTV Canada, Canal J and Gulli France have also acquired the show.
Cartoon Network (Latin America and EMEA) and Gulli will launch the series early next year, while YTV and Cartoon Network U.S. have already launched in July. Based on an original concept, Redakai is a co-production between Marathon Media Studios and Spin Master.
Zodiak Kids/Marathon Media hold the global TV and licensing rights excluding North America, where Spin Master is licensor, along with all toy rights. Zodiak Kids/Marathon Media manage the licensing rights in France directly while Cartoon Network has been appointed licensing agent in the U.S., Latin America and EMEA (excluding French-speaking Europe). International TV distribution (excluding North America) is handled by Zodiak Rights, the U.K. based sales team for the Zodiak Media Group.
"Partnering with Cartoon Network, the ultimate destination for boys entertainment, is a key step in connecting Redakai with its core audience," says Patricia de Wilde, senior vice president, consumer products at Zodiak Kids/Marathon Media. "We are thrilled to have Cartoon Network as our partners in Latin America.”
