Lego Group has released its toy slate for 2009; a year in which the building toy set maker marks 10 years in licensing. Lego Star Wars was the first licensed construction toy line released by the company in 1999.

To commemorate the special year, Lego releases Darth Vader's TIE Fighter (available now), Echo Base (August) and The Battle of Endor (August)—all in special-edition packaging.

Other licensed Lego sets will be unveiled at Toy Fair, including new and old sets based on the Lego Star Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars brands, as well as new Indiana Jones and SpongeBob SquarePants sets.

In other Lego news, the toy manufacturer has teamed up with Tinseltown Toons and Universal Studios Home Entertainment to create a direct-to-video release Bionicle: The Legend Reborn for the fall.
