The Bagpuss brand has enjoyed strong U.K. performance. U.K. retailer Past Times reported that its Christmas 2010 sales of Bagpuss plush toys made by Posh Paws were up 80 percent from 2009 and 800 percent from 2008. In addition, the Bagpuss plush toy was ranked the number one retro toy for Christmas 2010 by U.K. newspaper “The Daily Mail.”
“These new product lines from Zeon and the fantastic success of Bagpuss plush at retail, as well as the stage show, are testament to the enduring popularity of the character,” says Anna Hewitt, head of licensing at Coolabi. “We have brand new style guides for Bagpuss and will continue to expand the brand further in 2011 through new licensing deals and live performances.”
