Discovery Communications has expanded its relationship with Big Tent Entertainment, which has signed a three-year extension deal with Discovery Kids and will represent TLC in North America.

Big Tent's licensing program for TLC will include efforts for the brand alone, as well as for its series "What Not to Wear," "Say Yes to the Dress," "A Baby Story," "BBQ Pitmasters" and "19 Kids and Counting." Categories will include home and organization, cooking, fashion and weddings.

For Discovery Kids, Big Tent plans to roll out more than 50 new products from current licensees, Parragon Publishing, MerchSource, 505 Games, Jakks Pacific, MasterPieces, SRM and Kids Station. New categories will include platform-based video games, electronics, computers/computer peripherals, remote-controlled toys, apparel, room décor, furniture, outdoor sport and select food.

"Over the past three years, Big Tent has expertly developed Discovery Kids-branded products consumers love and trust," says Elizabeth Bakacs, vice

president of licensing for Discovery Commerce. "With their expertise and strong relationships throughout the licensing arena, we're confident Big Tent will continue to build on the existing successes of Discovery Kids, while successfully extending the TLC brand beyond quality programming to quality products."
