BBC Worldwide has won a Magnolia Award for animated preschool series "3rd & Bird!" at this year's Shanghai Television Festival.

3rd & Bird!, the latest preschool offering from Little Airplane, won Best Foreign Animation Golden Award for episode one of the show. BBC Worldwide holds the global distribution rights to the property.

The aim of the Magnolia Award is to increase communication and cultural exchange, while developing strategies for the development of the television industry across Asia.

"Winning the Magnolia Award is a great platform for raising the profile of '3rd & Bird!' in Asia," says Joyce Yeung, BBC Worldwide's senior vice president and general manager of sales and distribution Asia. "The Shanghai TV Festival is a prestigious event and is instrumental is supporting the international television industry across the territory."

"3rd & Bird!" focuses on a community of birds that live, learn and play in the branches of a beautiful old tree. It uses Little Airplanes' photo-puppetry

animation.
