BBC Worldwide has promoted Amanda Hill to the newly created position of chief brands officer, in another executive move prompted by its recent restructure.
In her new role, Hill will be responsible for developing an overall strategy for BBC Worldwide’s global brands as well as developing and managing the group’s current brand portfolio, which includes Dancing with the Stars, Top Gear, Doctor Who and CBeebies.
Hill has worked at BBC Worldwide for 10 years, where she currently serves as managing director of BBC Earth. She previously served as project director of brand strategy at consultancy firm Added Value and senior brand manager at L’Oreal.
“Amanda has an outstanding record in growing brands such as Walking with Dinosaurs and BBC Earth, and I have no doubt that she is the right person to build and develop our core brands around the world,” says Paul Dempsey, interim chief executive officer, BBC Worldwide. “She will take up the post early in the New Year and will play a key role in bringing us closer to our global audiences as we drive forward our restructuring plans.”
