SMC Signs ‘H2O’ Partners

SMC Entertainment Group has secured several new licensing partners for the teen television series “H20: Just Add Water.”

Among the new licensees are Mighty Fine for knit tops, tees and fleece; BSD Brands for flip flops, kids’ sunglasses and tote bags; Kalan for novelty gifts, party and fashion accessories; Global Resources for branded virtual goods; California Costume Collection for children’s costumes; Funky Town for blankets, drinking glasses, straw cups and canvas bags; and Global Prints for posters. Merchandise will hit retail in spring 2013. 

“The first tier licensing opportunities for ‘H20: Just Add Water’ include a wide array of products, ranging from organic brand extensions like swimwear, apparel, accessories and novelties, to publishing, gaming, mobile apps, stationery, room decor, and health and beauty,” said Lisa Streff, senior vice president, licensing, SMC. “We are thrilled to have our key licensing partners secured, and as a result of the popularity and huge awareness of the

brand, we are in an excellent position to extend the brand at retail.”

Targeted to girls ages 6–12, “H20: Just Add Water” is a live-action TV series about a trio of teenage mermaids that is currently in its third season on Teen Nick.
