GameHouse, the gaming division of RealNetworks, will look to expand its social game studio, investing at least $10 million in the initiative this year.

“Social game development is the number one priority for our company in 2012,” says Matt Hulett, chief gamer at GameHouse. “I believe this strategic expansion of our social games studio in Victoria, British Columbia, will not only grow our games portfolio, but will also solidify our leadership position in the overall games industry.”

The company will also look to grow its staff, hiring aggressively in Seattle, Wash., and Victoria. The move follows releases of GameHouse’s Facebook games “Collapse! Blast” and “Bayou Blast,” which have attracted nearly 400,000 daily players, says the company.

GameHouse further continues to expand with a business model that includes direct-to-consumer websites, social game development, cross platform publishing, licensing and technology.
