Just after the first anniversary of Egmont's range of books for preschool brand Waybuloo, the property's master publisher has reported sales of more than half a million books resulting in revenues of more than £1.1 million ($1.7 million).

So far, 19 Waybuloo titles have been published across a range of formats, including storybooks, board, novelty and coloring and activity.

"We are delighted with the success of our Waybuloo publishing," says David Riley, managing director of Egmont Publishing Group. "All titles have been very well received at retail and the results have been strong in the U.K. We are especially pleased to have penetrated all market sectors. Waybuloo is a fantastic addition to our preschool portfolio and we look forward to continued success with this brand both in the U.K. and internationally."

Egmont U.K. will publish 12 new Waybuloo titles into new and popular formats throughout 2011.

"Waybuloo" is produced by The Foundation, part of the Zodiak Media Group, and Decode Entertainment

for CBeebies. New episodes are currently premiering on CBeebies and on BBC Two. Zodiak Rights holds worldwide rights in all media for the property, with the exception of Canada where Decode Enterprises handles broadcast and home entertainment rights, and DHX Licensing represents consumer products rights. Both Decode Enterprises and DHX Licensing are subsidiaries of DHX Media.
