Mumbai-based licensing enterprise Dream Theatre has announced plans for two major product rollouts in India featuring Saban Brands’ Power Rangers Samurai and Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds. Dream Theatre represents both brands for licensing and merchandising in India.
The new Power Rangers Samurai collection will include toys, kids apparel, footwear, a publishing program, sporting goods like skateboards and cycles and back-to-school products. Items will be available at more than 800 outlets across the country.
“The Power Rangers franchise is the first boy’s action brand that has stayed alive and resonant for nearly two decades,” says Jiggy George, founder and chief executive officer, Dream Theatre. “Dream Theatre is excited to deliver excitement to the fans in India with a slew of authentic Power Rangers Samurai merchandise.”
In a second program, Dream Theatre is also getting ready to add more than 350 additional products to the roster for Rovio’s “Angry Birds” mobile game. New products will include footwear, footwear accessories, kid’s apparel, fashion bags and furniture, to be sold in more than 600 stores countrywide.
“The Indian retail market, always sensitive to global trends, already has a huge demand for Angry Birds, and we’re pleased to introduce officially licensed products,” says George. “The popularity of Angry Birds is really phenomenal and the first of its kind for the Indian market where the majority of licensed merchandising so far has hinged on TV exposure. This simple and fun game has captured the imagination of fans and we are excited to be the bridge for fans, allowing them to own merchandise from this sensational brand.”
