Facebook has expanded the roster of retailers in its Facebook Gift program, which lets users buy and send items to their friends via the social networking platform, according to Bloomberg.
Brookstone, Dean & Deluca and Fab.com are the newest companies to join the service, which already includes Starbucks and 1-800-Flowers.com.
Facebook Gifts is the result of the media giant’s purchase of the social-gifting mobile app, Karma, back in May in a move to expand into e-commerce.
Introduced in September in the U.S., Facebook Gifts lets users choose gifts for their friends, attach cards and post the gift on the receiver’s timeline or through a personal message. The recipient then can “unwrap” the present to get a preview of the gift and choose a different color, size, flavor or exchange it for something of equal value before the item is shipped.
