Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eurocom have teamed up for the new “Harry Potter for Kinect” video game, available this fall. The game, which will be based on all eight Harry Potter films, will be available exclusively for Xbox 360 Kinect.
By taking advantage of the unique Kinect technology, the new game will offer a very different kind of immersive gaming experience for Harry Potter fans. Players will have the option to play as a character from the franchise or scan in their own face to create a unique witch or wizard avatar. Kinect's hands-free and voice recognition capabilities will also allow gamers to cast spells by using physical maneuvers and calling out spell names.
In addition to the primary storyline, “Harry Potter for Kinect” will include competitive mini-games and co-op gameplay opportunities.
"‘Harry Potter for Kinect’ will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants," says Samantha Ryan, senior vice president, production and development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Kids and parents will enjoy re-creating their favorite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and dueling other wizards."
