The Jim Henson Company, in conjunction with production company Inferno, will present their new 3D stop-motion animated version of Pinocchio at the Cannes Film Festival this month. Based on the version of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale that was illustrated by Gris Grimly, the film was co-directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, 2006, and executive producer, Puss in Boots, 2011) and Mark Gustafson (The Fantastic Mr. Fox, 2009). The film is titled Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio and marks Del Toro’s first turn at helming an animated feature.
