HBO Global Licensing is revving up the consumer product program for its series “Game of Thrones” in time for its season two premiere.

HBO and Chronicle Books will release Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones, a companion book to the series. The book, which will be available this fall at bookstores nationwide and online in the New York City-based HBO Shop, will provide behind-the-scenes stories and details on just how the series was developed from George R.R. Martin’s book A Song of Ice and Fire.

Other product initiatives include the launch of costumes and props from the series, which will be displayed as an exhibit in the HBO Shop from March 26 through May; a weekly product showcase to follow each Sunday broadcast of the series that will unveil a new episode-specific product line up; and a national sweepstakes providing fans with exclusive merchandise from the show.

All official merchandise will be available online at www.store.hbo.com and at the HBO Shop.
