Egmont Press has acquired “World of Happy” by author Giles Andreae, who is best known for his Purple Ronnie and Edward Monkton creations.
Egmont plans to launch the series with thirteen picture book titles in spring 2011. The square paperbacks will sit on a specially designed spinner in stores. New books, in different formats, will be published later in 2011. “World of Happy” is already a TV series on CBBC.
Each book will tell a story using different animal characters, including pink crickets, wobbly hippos, burping sharks and footballing tortoises. They support the idea behind the brand, which is to encourage children to view the world in an enthusiastic and engaged way.
