Coming off of the success of the Licensing International Expo this summer in Las Vegas, Brand Licensing Europe 2010 is shaping up to top its performance last year. The September event, organized by the Advanstar Global Licensing Group, has already sold 90 percent of its booth space.

In just five years, Brand Licensing Europe has nearly doubled in space, according to Georgiann DeCenzo, executive vice president of the Advanstar Global Licensing Group.

"Registrations are pacing well ahead of last year, and in 2009, the event had an increase of 13.5 percent in attendance," she says.

BLE will also see 1-in-4 of its visitors from outside of the U.K., up 33 percent in two years time. In addition, more than 58 countries will be represented.

Key participants already on board for the upcoming show include BBC Worldwide, The Beanstalk Group, Chorion, Classic Media, Hasbro, Iconix Europe, Lucasfilm, Ludorum, Mattel, NBA Europe, Nickelodeon, Paramount, Rainbow, Saban Brands, Sega, Sony Pictures, Twentieth

Century Fox, Ubisoft and Warner Bros.

BLE recently expanded into three days. Other new features this year will include a Retail Mentoring Programme, for development of retail talent within the licensing industry, and The Next Best Thing: License This!, where creators can pitch their new concepts.

Brand Licensing Europe will be held Sept. 28 to 30 at Olympia's Grand Hall in London.
