To start, the companies have launched an Instagram contest that encourages outdoor enthusiasts to post their best camping hack videos using the hashtag #CampingHBOContest and @HBO.
Grand prize winners will receive a trip to Los Angles, invitations to the screening, REI camping gear and the chance to have their video shown at all of the show’s regional screenings.
The deadline to submit videos is Sept. 17.
Advanced screenings of the series will take place at REI flagship stores in Seattle, Denver and Washington, D.C., where viewers can snack on “Camping”-themed goods, experience the latest camping gear and learn camping tips from experts.
“Camping” follows a group of friends as they arrive at the Brown Bear campsite to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
“Camping” is set to debut on HBO Oct. 14.
