DCPI’s spring promotion will highlight Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and other top franchises.
Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media will debut Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes, a new promotional campaign that includes merchandise, content and more.
The new retail campaign will build on the success of Marvel’s Super Hero Spectacular fall campaign with a raft of new product launches and in-store events. Kicking off the campaign is Hasbro, which will launch new 6-inch Marvel Legends figures. The promotion will also be supported by Funko with new large-scale collectibles; LEGO with updated Mighty Micros; Jakks for additional Tsum Tsum characters; Jada Toys for die-cast figures; and Schleich for a host of new collectibles.
Marvel will also release Doctor Strange on DVD and Blu-Ray; the new “Monsters Unleashed!” comic series; the first novel featuring Squirrel Girl, titled The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World; a picture book featuring Baby Groot; a scavenger hunt game on MarvelKids.com; a Guardians of the Galaxy console game; and a raft of new television content.
Additionally, retailers including Walmart, Target, Toys ‘R’ Us, Kohl’s and Amazon will support the promotion with in-store signage, events and special offers.
“Whether you are big like Hulk, small like Ant-Man or smart and quick-to-action like Black Widow, Marvel truly has a hero for everyone,” says Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel, DCPI. “From young kids to teenagers, to a casual fan or a diehard adult collector, Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes showcases that there is no singular definition for a hero and that our diversity is what makes us so powerful.”
