Cartoon Network has unveiled the U.K. launch plans for its new “Powerpuff Girls” toy range from the series’ global toy partner Spin Master.

Retailers Argos and The Entertainer are on board to debut Spin Master’s licensed toys throughout the U.K.


Kicking off the U.K. roll out is Argos, which launched the first SKUs, including the Storymaker play set and plush, through its catalogue and online last Saturday, Jan. 21. Additionally, the launch is being supported by a robust TV and digital campaign.

Meanwhile, The Entertainer is gearing up to introduce Spin Master’s toy range to its stores and online this Thursday, Jan. 26. The Entertainer will also support the launch with a marketing campaign that includes “The Powerpuff Girls” Super Saturdays, which will see the toy store host a raft of branded activities, exclusive discounts and competitions for four consecutive weeks.

surge thanks to the increased exposure that the recent free-to-air broadcast launch has generated,” says Johanne Broadfield, vice president, Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA. “With retailers proactively backing the brand, it’s looking promising that we’re going to make big waves in the girls’ market and successfully extend the power of ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ off-screen.”

Additionally, a robust lineup of fashion, accessories, gifts, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back-to-school products will begin hitting retailers this spring.
