 American Greetings Properties has signed new deals for Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears in Asia and Australia.

In Japan, AGP and its regional licensing agent MindWorks Entertainment, have added two new apparel partners for the Care Bears brand, Wakaba and Minoya. Wakaba is planning a line of classic and retro Care Bears t-shirts, while Minoya will introduce women’s socks, foot covers, leggings and warmers. Both lines will be available at department and specialty stores nationwide.

In Thailand, AGP and local licensing agent Medialink have signed two new licensees for Strawberry Shortcake. MT Favourgift is developed stationery and back-to-school ranges, and Pong Intouch will expand its current apparel and accessories offerings to include baby apparel.

Finally, in Australia and New Zealand, AGP is planning a series of Strawberry Shortcake live events in partnership with The Entertainment Store. The deal, which was negotiated in partnership

with AGP’s regional licensing agent Merchantwise, will see The Entertainment Store develop a variety of character experiences for retail venues in both countries.

“There are fans of Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears in every corner of the globe, and these new agreements are part of our ongoing strategy to introduce new ways to experience these beloved brands,” says Carla Silva, vice president of global licensing, AGP. “From apparel to accessories to character appearances, we know that our consumer, no matter what age, will be able to connect to our brands in Asia and Australia.”
