Apple Announces New Details for TV and Video Game Streaming Platforms

Apple announced pricing and release details about its upcoming subscription streaming services, Apple Arcade and Apple TV+.

The technology company announced that Apple Arcade will be available on the App Store starting Sept. 19 for iOS. Apple’s streaming video game subscription will cost users $4.99 per month and provide unlimited access to the entire catalog of more than 100 new, exclusive games. Games for the platform include:

  • “Ballistic Baseball” from Gameloft;

    • “Exit the Gungeon” from Devolver;

      • Pac-Man Party Royale from Bandai Namco;

        • “Projection: First Light” from Blowfish;

          • “Steven Universe: Unleash the Light,” from Cartoon Network; and

            • “Various Daylife” from Square Enix.

              The previously-announced Apple TV+ will launch Nov. 1 in more than 100 countries and regions. The launch features original content including “The Morning Show,” “Dickinson,” “See,” “For All Mankind” and “The Elephant Queen.” The service will be available on the

              , for $4.99 per month. Starting today, customers who purchase any supported devices will receive free access to the platform for free for one year.

              “With Apple TV+, we are presenting all-original stories

              from the best, brightest and most creative minds, and we know viewers will find their new favorite show or movie on our service,” says Zack Van Amburg, head, worldwide video, Apple. “Each Apple TV+ original offers its own unique story, fresh perspective and powerful message–all meant to entertain, connect and inspire cultural conversations.”

              The new streaming content platform will have to compete in a growing market that already includes Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and later this year

              Disney+.
