Lazy Oaf is set to release a new range of attire based on the cartoon icon this week.
GLOBAL–Fleischer Studios and British streetwear brand Lazy Oaf have teamed up for a new capsule collection inspired by the iconic cartoon character Betty Boop.
King Features, Fleischer Studios’ exclusive worldwide licensing agent for the Betty Boop property, brokered the deal.
The new line draws inspiration from Betty Boop’s pin-up characteristics and includes a 15-piece range of streetwear silhouettes and signature Lazy Oaf shapes.
“Betty is an icon, someone that I have grown up with; she is sexy, sassy, empowering and essentially street smart. She bucks expectations and goes her own way which is what I encourage everyone to do! Working with Betty has been a dream. As a teen in the ‘90s, there was a massive explosion of Betty in streetwear and I wanted to add that element to our ranges,” says Gemma Shiel, founder and head designer, Lazy Oaf.
The Betty Boop x Lazy Oaf collection will launch at LazyOaf.com and select retailers worldwide this week.
