The book features an origami Darth Vader on the cover and instructions to fold your own Darth Vader. The concept for both books was created by author Tom Angleberger, and based on the Star Wars characters from Lucasfilm.
Fans voted for their favorite Star Wars character in an online poll to select the character for the second book. After 10,000 votes were submitted, the results confirmed that more than 50 percent of readers hoped Darth Vader would appear in the next book.
“There has been such a huge reader response to our poll,” says Susan Van Metre, senior vice president and publisher of Amulet Books. “So many kids loved Origami Yoda and felt very strongly about which character should appear in the sequel.”
