Saban Brands is launching an advisory committee for its new lifestyle group that will counsel the company on its current brands and future acquisitions.

The new division was

formed late last year

and has already made two new acquisitions–the Australian fashion label

Mambo

in January and the surf brand

Piping Hot

. The group also includes the Paul Frank and Macbeth brands.

The new advisory committee will meet quarterly and will be made up of industry executives the first of which is Mona Bijoor, founder and chief executive officer of Joor, a digital wholesale marketplace that connects apparel brands with retailers worldwide.

Bijoor will assist Saban Brands in expanding its global network and provide industry expertise in the fashion and lifestyle brand management space. Her wide range of industry experience includes work with retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor and Harrods, as well as fashion labels including Michael Kors, Rag & Bone and Phillip Lim. Bijoor also worked in-house at

Ann Taylor, Chanel and Elie Tahari.

"Mona is a prominent leader in the fashion industry, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to work with her," says Dan Castle, managing director, Saban Brands Lifestyle Group. "We look forward to leveraging her expertise while also adding additional experts to Saban Brands Lifestyle Group's advisory committee in the coming months."
