The four-day event brought a variety of people including senior and junior executives from companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Universal and eOne as well as brand owners and agents. The competition saw the group cycle 325 miles from Bristol to Dublin and to climb 23,760 feet.

“It was the most extraordinary week and showed the camaraderie of the licensing industry in all its glory,” says Ian Hyder, joint managing director, Max Publishing and co-founder, Light Fund.

“This is reflected in the staggering amount of money raised for The Light Fund—and we are still receiving donations even after the event.”

The event raised more than $230,000. Funding from the Cycle challenge has already been given to Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal in Bristol and the Welsh children’s hospice Tŷ Hafan; other beneficiaries will be announced later this year.
