TRU Names New MD in Oz

Javes first joined the company in 2008 as general merchandise manager, and returns to TRU from the outdoor retailer Anaconda Group where he served as chief executive officer from 2009 to 2012.

Javes’ predecessor, Tom Via, has been promoted to senior vice president, juvenile, Toys ‘R’ Us, U.S. 

In his new role, Javes will oversee all operations and business activities for the company’s 35 stores, e-commerce site, corporate office and more than 350 employees in Australia. He is also responsible for marketing, merchandising, store operations and customer service.

A seasoned retail executive with more than 30 years of experience in the Australian market, Javes has also held positions at Kmart and Coles Supermarkets Australia.
