Sperber will serve as the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.

The new venture will aim to ensure that IP owners are able to take more control of their franchise development and revenue upside. It will also identify strategies to exploit brands through both traditional and digital platforms and partners.

White Space Entertainment has already secured a number of brands including Dr. Seuss, Uglydoll and DR1 drone racing league. The agency will also undertake the launch of an all-new franchise, called Benji.

Meanwhile, White Space’s advisory services, which currently represent studios such as Sony, STX and gaming developer Starbreeze, will focus on franchise development, branding, alliances, marketing and retail.

"The entertainment business has changed immensely and it isn't enough to follow the old rules of

franchise development, branding and licensing to grow both an IP and revenue," says Sperber. "White Space offers content creators more control to build franchises and opportunity on their terms, while also creating and extending the revenue cycle of a property–all with the singular goal of maximizing the full potential of their brands on a worldwide basis."
