Disney Store to Expand Worldwide

Disney Store will expand the retail presence of its new interactive stores to 12 countries by the end of 2012, the company announced yesterday at the NRF's Big Show in New York City.New stores slated to open this year include an inaugural location in Shan

New stores slated to open this year include an inaugural location in Shanghai, China opening this fall and Milan, Italy in February. The city of Sendai recently held the grand opening of its first interactive store in Japan.

In North America, 13 new and remodeled interactive Disney Store locations are scheduled to open this year in Colorado, California, Florida, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, New York, Utah, Virginia and Ontario, Canada. 

“We take great pride in bringing the magic of Disney to families around the world through Disney Store destinations,” says Jim Fielding, president of Disney Stores Worldwide. “As we reflect on 25 years of accomplishments, we also look forward to all of the new and exciting places Disney Store will go in the future and we’re excited to create ‘the best 30 minutes of a child’s day’ for the next generation.”
