Surge Licensing Named Agent for Thimblestump Hollow
Surge Licensing has been named exclusive master agent for designer toy line Thimblestump Hollow.

Surge will work to develop the brand’s global entertainment and licensing campaign. The Thimblestump Hollow brand is based around creepy-cute fantasy characters with large, shiny black eyes and curious expressions. One year after debuting at San Diego Comic-Con in 2015, the toys were picked up by retailer Hot Topic and have since become one of the top-selling blind box programs.

“In our minds, Thimblestump Hollow can be any slice of the real world,” say Chris Ryniak and Amanda Louise Spayd, creators of the brand. “It could be your own yard, that moss-covered corner of a parking lot, or right behind a stack of cups at a coffee shop. The creatures of Thimblestump Hollow inhabit these places, asking us to pause for just a moment and consider what strange and amazing things could exist just beyond our notice, if we would only stop and look for them.”

“Amanda and Chris are two of the most talented and well-known toy designers in the industry,” says Elan Freedman, vice president, Surge. “They’ve created a brand that sits in both the powerful designer toy world but also in the mainstream trend world. But even more so, Thimblestump Hollow is the basis of an immersive visual world that we at Surge can’t wait to help bring to life.”

Thimblestump Hollow toys are available at Hot Topic, in designer and vinyl toy stores and online at
