DHX Media has appointed Lara Ilie to the role of vice president of rights strategy for DHX Media and has named Rachel Taylor as commercial director of its wholly owned subsidiary WildBrain.

In her new role, Ilie will develop and work to implement integrated strategies to monetize DHX Media’s portfolio of IP across various territories and business units. In addition, she will be tasked with formulating strategies to keep the company at the front of market trends and increase revenue from the company’s library of kids and family brands. She will also oversee content sales in Canada, Spain, Italy and Australia.

“We are committed to driving growth from our world-leading portfolio of kids’ and family brands,” says Josh Scherba, president, DHX Media. “Lara has a talent for building strong client relationships and has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of the international market for children’s content and brands. With her in-depth knowledge of DHX Media’s rights business, Lara is the ideal person to help us further identify and advance integrated strategies to propel our rights business on the next phase of growth.”

Ilie has worked for DHX Media since 2007 and formerly served as senior director of sales, responsible for Iberia, Italy, Benelux, Nordics, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Before joining DHX, she held roles in sales and acquisition for Romanian Television and Pro TV.

In her new role, Taylor will work to expand WildBrain’s commercial partnership business with third-party brands. She leads WildBrain's sales and operations teams and client management.

Taylor has a wealth of experience in content distribution and monetization and toys. Prior roles include senior business and commercial roles at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she was director of commercial partnerships for EMEA, as well as director of global commercial innovation and strategy at Twentieth Century Fox. Before joining WildBrain, she acted as international sales director for Australian toy company Funtastic.

“The third-party kids’ brands that we manage are an important pillar of the WildBrain business,” says Jon Gisby, managing director, WildBrain.“Rachel possesses a deep appreciation of the importance of commercial partnerships, built over a decade of experience working in international media and consumer products. We welcome her to the WildBrain team and look forward to working with her to continue building our network of clients and developing these relationships.”
