BLE Readies for its Sweet 16

A swath of big-brand companies are already slated to exhibit at Brand Licensing Europe this year, which will return to London’s Olympia Oct. 7-9.

Over 70 percent of the show’s floor space has already been sold to exhibitors that include 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Chupa Chups, Dorna Sports, DreamWorks Animation, Hasbro Brand Licensing & Publishing, ITV Global Entertainment, Mind Candy, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, Rovio Entertainment, The Royal Ballet, Von Dutch, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Yellow House Art Licensing.

Last year’s show was the best attended in the event’s history, attracting 5 percent more visitors than 2012 and marked the launch of three new zones on the show floor.

More than 7,200 retailers, licensees and sales promotion professionals from 69 countries attended BLE 2013 to see 280-plus exhibitors showcasing in excess of 2,200 brands, characters and images. ??

To help visitors easily navigate to their areas

of interest, the show will once again be zoned into three distinct areas: Art, Design and Image; Brands and Lifestyle; and Character and Entertainment.

The Licensing Academy will also run concurrent to the exhibition, featuring keynote sessions from leading industry experts, as well as the License This! competition for new creative concepts, now in its fourth year.
