CBS Consumer Products has announced a host of retail partners for its feature film adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
Among the partners are BioWorld, Insight Editions, Harper Collins and Hot Topic. BioWorld and Hot Topic will be debuting licensed apparel including t-shirts, stationery, tote bags and socks featuring spooky imagery from the upcoming film. Harper Collins and Insight Editions will also be launching books and notebooks inspired by the franchise. Harper Collins, specifically, will re-release a new box set of Alvin Schwartz’s books inspired by the upcoming feature film.
“Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark has captivated fans for more than 35 years, and we are thrilled to bring some extra thrills and chills to retail this summer with this impressive lineup of licensees,” says Veronica Hart, executive vice president, global franchise management, CBS Consumer Products.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will be released in theaters on Aug. 9 from CBS Films, eOne and Lionsgate Films. The feature film will be one of the last theatrical releases from CBS Films. It was announced earlier this year that the studio would be folded into the CBS Entertainment Group in order to begin to focus on developing streaming properties.
