Hong Kong Readies for Licensing Summit

Event will feature informational sessions including a presentation by License! Global's Steven Ekstract.

The Hong Kong Licensing Awards, Asian Licensing Awards and International Licensing Summit will take place Tuesday at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Organized by the Asian Licensing Association, the event will feature a series of panel discussions, presentations and networking opportunities with speakers including Yoon Sunmin, vice president of "Line Friends" in Korea and Yujin Nishiho general manager of TV Tokyo.

License! Global publisher Steven Ekstract will also host a feature session, discussing the explosive growth of the entertainment business in China. Ekstract will examine the tremendous potential for the licensing business as the Chinese government enforces copyright protections and cracks down on counterfeits in "Impact & Influence–China’s Burgeoning Entertainment Business," which will take place at 1:50 p.m. local time in Room S421 on Level 4 of the Old Wing of the HKCEC.

The afternoon's educational track will be followed by an awards presentation ceremony in the evening, honoring the year's best promotion, licensing agent, licensee, young property, property, new character design and more.

The Hong Kong Licensing Awards, Asian Licensing Awards and International Licensing Summit are held in conjunction with the 14th annual Hong Kong International Licensing Show, which is taking place through Wednesday.
