USAopoly and Disney Consumer Products U.K. have announced the launch of a new cooperative card and dice game set in the Star Wars universe.

In “Star Wars: Dark Side Rising,” available in the EMEA region, players work together to recruit rebels and prevent the construction of the original Death Star. The strategic tabletop game sees participants coordinating efforts to recruit classic Star Wars characters such as C-3PO, R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Admiral Raddus and Han Solo in order to organize their cells to stop the Empire.

As our first game designed specifically for the EMEA regions, approachability had to be one of the foundational design pillars,” says Tony Serebriany, director, inventor relations and international sales, USAopoly. “‘Star Wars: Dark Side Rising’ requires strategic thinking but scales in difficulty, making it accessible yet challenging and fun for gamers of all experience levels.”

The new board game is a part of the recent Star Wars licensing deal between USAopoly and Disney Consumer Products U.K. USAopoly is expected to continue to develop additional tabletop games based on the property throughout the year.
