Sprint is ending its title sponsorship for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series after the 2016 season.

The telecommunications company is choosing not to extend its long-running contract with the racing brand, citing a need to focus on its core business, according to CNBC.

The sponsorship started back in 2004 when the series was called the Nextel Cup Series. The title was changed when Sprint merged with Nextel in 2008.
