Puffin has joined PopJam, Mind Candy's social community for kids, as the platform's first major publishing partner.

The new mobile social community lets young user follow friends, brands, celebrities and trends in a safe, live-moderated environment.

“We're excited about the idea of encouraging kids to read and engage more with the books that they love," says Michael Acton Smith, chairman, founder and chief creative officer, Mind Candy. "PopJam is the perfect place for this, and we are delighted to have Puffin on board as our first publishing partner.”

The new Puffin channel will connect kids to the publisher's range of brands and titles from The Diary of Dennis the Menace to The Worst Witch, Cathy Cassidy’s Chocolate Box Girls to Richard Adam’s Watership Down.

PopJam is currently only available in the U.K. and Australia, with international rollout planned soon.

“At Penguin Random House, when it comes to our fantastic brands and authors, we know it’s vitally important to have meaningful, two-way conversations with our audiences and to be present on the platforms they are already using," says

Layla West, consumer engagement director, Penguin Random House. "That’s why PopJam is a perfect fit for Puffin. The Puffin page showcases our most beloved titles, characters and brands in an innovative way, to ensure we’re delivering the exciting and sharable experiences the ‘jammers’ ask for.”
