As part of the deal, Gershwin Entertainment will create “Rainbow Rangers” live touring shows across North America. The live theater production will coincide with the property’s retail launch in 2019, which will include 300 product SKUs for back-to-school and holiday 2019.
Genius Brands has also inked a raft of licensing deals ahead of the retail launch of “Rainbow Rangers,” which include Mattel (master toy), Bentex (master apparel), MacMillan Publishing (master publishing) and Bioworld (bags, backpacks), among others.
“The consumer response to Nick Jr.’s introduction of ‘Rainbow Rangers’ demonstrates that the brand’s plethora of licensing partners are on track to benefit from what promises to be one of 2019’s hottest new preschool entertainment properties,” says Lloyd Mintz, senior vice president, global licensing, Genius Brands. “Todd Gershwin and his amazing team of live stage performance professionals share our vision for this dynamic property. As a longtime producer, Todd has developed and produced numerous successful theatrical productions, Broadway shows, concerts and tours for various iconic brands and we are all very excited to place ‘Rainbow Rangers’ in his very capable hands.”
“Rainbow Rangers” premiered on Nick Jr. on Nov. 5.
