Gershwin Entertainment has announced that the Peanuts gang will be heading to the U.S. this holiday season with the musical, “A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage.”

The production will see real actors portray Peanuts characters in a retelling of the classic “A Charlie Brown Christmas” animated TV special. Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson’s Emmy and Peabody award-winning story will be put to the stage using Vince Guaraldi musical score from the special.

As a stage production, it will also expand the storyline into greater detail with additional music and character insights. The adaptation by Eric Schaeffer will include a special musical arrangement from Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson.

The stage production adds to the growing list of Peanuts partnerships which previously include product licensing deals with Super7 and Levi.
