Licensing brand advisory and management company Starwood Brands has recently received an investment from David A. Gindi, who will assume the position of president and managing director.  

Gindi is a licensing professional with more than 12 years of experience. Beginning with an internship for Bluestar Alliance, he became the director of licensing for Planet Sox (now Centric Brands Socks) and then partnering with the Athletic Brands Alliance, he has worked with major rights holders of more than 60 brands such as FILA, Esprit, Tapout, Disney, Nickelodeon, Mattel, Hasbro and more. Gindi recently brokered deals with adidas and Reebok and is working with other world-class brands.  

Gindi is bringing along with him more than 30 clients who are key suppliers for major retail chains around the globe.  

“There is great momentum with Starwood Brands,” says Gindi. “With a focus on brand integrity, we are assisting the manufacturers and brands in finding the white-space categories, generating incremental revenues and adding more to their bottom line."
