Rainbow has signed a book deal for its upcoming new animated series "Royal Academy" (working title) with Italian publisher Fabbri Editori.

Fabbri Editori will develop a full range of titles, including storybooks and activity and novelty formats, based on the new show that will be distributed via bookstores and mass market outlets.

“To have a publishing deal signed before the show has even broadcast shows the strength of this new property,” says Cristiana Buzzelli, vice president, content, digital and publishing, Rainbow. “Fabbri Editori will make use of the show’s hilarious and exciting scripts and beautiful imagery to create a magical range of books.”

The new series follows the adventures of Rose, a seemingly normal young girl who discovers she is actually the granddaughter of Cinderella. Rose finds herself enrolled at Royal Academy, the exclusive school for fairytale characters, alongside Hawk SnowWhite, Travis Beast, Hope LeFrog and Astoria Rapunzel.
