China’s Shenzhen TV has commissioned IPCN to produce a local version of the reality show “Shark Tank.”

IPCN’s Shanghai-based production team will produce the 12-episode series. The Chinese version of the show is slated to premiere on Shenzhen TV, May 22.

Originally titled “Dragon’s Den,” the award-winning, business-entertainment show is based on the Japanese format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation and has been produced in territories including the U.S. (“Shark Tank”) and the U.K.

“We are very excited to bring our format for the first time to an Asian country other than Japan, making this the 27th country that has adapted the ‘Dragons’ Den’ format,” says Yukiko Kimishima, president, international business development, Nippon TV. “We have great confidence that the audience in China will truly enjoy this riveting show.”
