On the heels of the box office success of “Candyman,” with ticket sales totaling more than $50M worldwide to date, MGM’s Consumer Products division announced the expansion of its licensing program tied to the hit horror property. A lineup of new merchandise will debut throughout the year, including apparel, accessories, novelties and collectibles for the slasher film.
The horror genre has been a pop culture and film phenomenon for decades, and MGM’s portfolio of films continues to resonate with generations of audiences today around the world. Building upon the recent success of the “Candyman” film, produced and written by Academy Award-winner Jordan Peele, MGM Consumer Products continues to grow its catalog of merchandise for the thriller across all categories.
“Whether fans are rediscovering horror titles from deep within MGM’s library, or are new to the genre altogether, we are thrilled to be expanding our ‘Candyman’ merchandise to give consumers exciting new products to keep the spookiness going all year long,” says Robert Marick, executive vice president, global consumer products and experiences, MGM.
