ITV Studios Global Entertainment has appointed Trademark Products to produce a range of fashion apparel for the Village People brand in the U.K.
The range will include men’s and women’s t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, which are set to arrive on shelves in spring/summer. Additional retail launches are planned for the fourth quarter.
This is the first new licensee ITVS GE has signed for the disco group since the company took on the brand last November.
ITVS GE is targeting a range of new categories including apparel, gifting, homewares, stationery, back-to-school, video games, figurines, accessories, electronics and apps.
“The announcement of the first apparel licensee for the Village People brand makes a real statement about the enormous licensing potential of this legendary name. We’re delighted to welcome Trademark on board with this exciting range of apparel,” says Trudi Hayward, senior vice president, head of global merchandising, ITVS GE.
