Sanrio Debuts Hello Kitty Bags

Sanrio and Manhattan Portage have collaborated on a worldwide, limited edition Hello Kitty bag collection.

In the U.S., the iconic cat will appear on four of Manhattan Portage’s New York Tough bag styles–a messenger bag, a hobo, a tote bag and a shoulder bag–as well as in a repeating pattern on Manhattan Portage’s signature lining fabric.

The bags come in three colors–red, purple and black–and will be available in September at both Sanrio and Manhattan Portage stores as well as both companies’ websites.

A small black DJ bag that features Hello Kitty printed on the flap will also be available exclusively at Sanrio stores and Sanrio.com. 

“We wanted to find a way to allow all Manhattan Portage fans and customers to join us in celebrating our 30th year and thought the best way to do that was to provide them with special products that can be enjoyed not only this year but for years to come,” says Su Hwei Lin, president, Manhattan Portage. “Manhattan Portage and Hello Kitty both have many fans around the world, so we see this collaboration as a way to strengthen international friendships.”
