MIDDLE EAST–National Geographic has partnered with the Israeli retailer Rikushet for a range of branded outdoor products.
The multi-year agreement, which was brokered by IMG, will see the retailer create and distribute men’s and women’s apparel such as down jackets, hats, gloves, trousers, vests and t-shirts. Rikushet will also develop a collection of National Geographic-branded travel accessories including neck pillows, eye masks and TSA locks; as well as equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, hiking poles and thermos flasks.
In addition, Rosa Zeegers, executive vice president of consumer products and experience National Geographic, will be onsite at the NYC Summit: The Business of Brand Licensing this February to discuss how she is keeping the iconic heritage brand relevant for today's consumers through innovative experiences and retail activations.
“At National Geographic, we are leveraging the full power of our portfolio to transform our world-renowned journalism and visual storytelling into meaningful experiences and products to empower explorers of all ages,” says Maria Maranesi, vice president, consumer products and experiences, National Geographic Europe & Africa. “As we begin to implement our new consumer products strategy throughout the region, we share Rikushet’s drive for premium quality products and we are excited to create this new product range that will help to inspire the curious explorers in all of us.”
Rikushet’s National Geographic collection will be available in the retailer’s 55 Israel stores, as well as online, beginning in 2018.
