Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that “Guardians of Middle-earth,” a new video game featuring tie-ins to the upcoming film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will be released this fall.

The multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game was developed by Monolith Productions, and will be available for Xbox Live Arcade, Xbox 360 and PlayStationNetwork. The game takes place in Middle-earth and features more than 20 guardians from the Lord of the Rings franchise include Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum and Thráin.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is scheduled to hit theatres Dec. 14.
