  • Music Licensing: Turning Music Into Gold (June 8): Steve Glasenk, vice president of licensing at Live Nation, will provide a snapshot of music licensing in today's market along with topics, including current trends and a future forecast. He will be joined by Paul Cole, director of licensing and merchandising at Apple Corps (holding company for The Beatles) and Stacey Dobkins, vice president of marketing and licensing at Vandor.

  • The Transformation of Fashion Retailing and the Implications for Licensing Opportunities (June 9): Jean Jacullo, assistant professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, will explore how changes in the fashion retail environment affect the opportunities for placement of licensing product in various distribution channels. She will be joined by David Galpin, global head of licensing for Dockers brand at Levi Strauss & Co.; Maryann Nichols, head of licensing for Levi's brand in the Americas at Levi Strauss & Co.; and Mark Sandler, president of Obbi, a division of Komar.

  • Sustainability in Licensing (June 9): Andrea Greene, consultant at Globally Green, will examine short-term and long-term sustainable business strategies, including a decreased ecological footprint and cost savings.

Licensing University runs from June 6 to 9 and includes a free keynote session held on June 8, the opening day of Licensing International Expo. The conference program will kick off with a pre-show state-of-retail session and tour led by Carol Speickerman, a Bentonville, Ariz.-based retail consultant. Other program highlights will include getting a brand ready for licensing, retail strategies beyond the top 10, new property introductions, using demographic trends to grow licensing business and deal structures in the interactive gaming and mobile world.
