Nelvana Names Hudson for "Beyblade" Video Games

Hudson Entertainment was appointed by Nelvana Enterprises to produce video games based on revamped boys' action series "Beyblade: Metal Fusion."

Nintendo DS and Wii games are slated for a holiday release.

"The original 'Beyblade' television series and toy line were a worldwide phenomenon and the new versions are already immensely popular in Japan," says Mike Pepe, director of marketing for Hudson Entertainment. "We're confident that the series and the video games will have similar success in North America. Both the Nintendo DS and Wii versions of the game will follow the story in the show, and we're looking forward to fans being able to battle as their favorite Beybladers whether they're home or on the run."

"Beyblade: Metal Fusion," from Nelvana and D-Rights, launched on Canada's YTV in May and hits the U.S. this month on Cartoon Network.
